Hummingbird Dream Or A Dream Come True?
Have you ever had a dream that seemed so real that you had to think about it before you knew if was a dream? What about dreaming about something, then having a waking experience that reminded you of the dream? I remember in my childhood days have dé·jà vu moments, and I found them to be fascinating. In those days, it was a precursor to other intuitive insights and experiences. Today, I encourage individuals to pay attention to their own insights, share, and discover others have their own intuitive moments.
Many readers have found this website to investigate their own hummingbird dreams. Why hummingbirds? Yes, they are fascinating birds. Their flight patterns and speed is incredible. Their appearance is precious, with their long beak, and I can stand so still watching that hummingbird tongue lapping up the sugar water in their feeder. Can dreams of hummingbirds also be insights into the more subtle, intuitive and spiritual world?
Recently Michael messaged me to share his own experience. I share it now with you, with Michael’s permission.
Michael’s Hummingbird Dream
I recently had a dream where I was standing, looking at a bed of
flowers, when suddenly a hummingbird appeared and was flying in front
of me. It flew there for a little while and then flew over to my right
shoulder and landed there. It was a great dream, very vivid. I woke up
that morning and told my wife about it. The very next day I was
outside watering our plants with the hose and to my disbelief I looked
up and flying right in front of me was a hummingbird. It went over to
a few flowers that I was watering and eventually flew right in front
of the water from the hose as if it were going to drink from it. I
could not believe this was happening as I just dreamt of a hummingbird
the night before! The hummingbird flew right in front of my face and
went over to my right side as it did in the dream. I stood as still as
possible, smiling from ear to ear. The hummingbird did not land on my
shoulder as it did in the dream but it was so amazing that this
happened the day after my dream! It was just awesome! I just had to
Very dé·jà vu-like experience, Michael! From an energy perspective, it looks like you are shifting into new level of joy in your life, but that’s not all. Isn’t it interesting how you can prepare yourself for something that originates on a soul-level, and integrate that into your day-to-day physical world as something amazing?
The leap from dream to daytime, and the idea that what happens in your life can originate within you, that is a big thing! So much better than having your life dictated to you by what comes at you from the outside. To have life be a constant reaction to what is going on outside in the world sometimes reminds me, a little bit in a comical way, of the “deer in the headlights”. (Thanks worldartsme.com for this cute image!)
I don’t mean to minimize that we are a part of the world, and we should be interactive and responsive. What I do want to focus on is the other source you have available to you. For a moment let’s group together something that comes from a “higher level” and combine God/Divine Source with your own soul-level guidance.
Michael’s experience of the hummingbird dream, followed the next morning by a hummingbird encounter in his yard led me to look at his experience and see one of the abilities Michael brings to this world. It is the ability to create a place-mark for something that is created on a soul level, shifting it from the fluidity of spirit to the tangible time and space of the physical world. In doing so, there is a profound experience, often accompanied by a feeling of joy. It can be something as simple as a hummingbird encounter that was preceded by a dream, and that burst of “Well I’ll be…”. Yes, you will be, are, and will be again and again!
What’s the point of all this? This posting is merely a placeholder for you to remember that so much of your experience originates within, and not always from a place of survival, emotional reactions, struggle. Those are the body levels of response. There is heart-felt or driven, guided by wisdom, divine presence, and soul-centered support. The only area I’ve left out is your voice, and bringing focus to your voice being first and foremost a means for you to listen to your own heart and soul.
Thank you Michael, for sharing your story!
