Hummingbirds are a part of our world, but oftentimes we do not notice. Our mental world and the problems we face in our evolution as people doesn’t mix well with the hyper-perceptive animal world. In fact, the mental flurry of categorizing and controlling our “world” doesn’t leave a lot of room for our spirit side, either.
Even though we don’t often see evidence of our spirit-self or spiritual support in our day-to-day lives it does not mean that the support is lacking. Many times I see my own support system on stand-by as they wait for me to ask. Why do they wait? This is a world of free-will, an amazing place where we can try so many different options. To step in and “fix it” for us would be to deny us our own learning.
We are also an interactive world, and even though there is our God-given freedom to create our own experiences we are never alone. Though we may not have a conscious awareness of this strong interactive space we do communicate, sometimes boldly, but most often in a subtle way.
When something happens outside the norm it often snaps us out of our train of thought, breaking us from the bounds of that almost hypnotic state we live in. We call it “deep in thought”, or “focused”, but our minds are so powerful that they can block our other senses, especially the subtle meta-physical senses.
When Hummingbirds Appear is it a Sign?
In those times we have events, like a hummingbird flying into our home or some other appearance that appears to be unusual, we can look at it in so many ways. It may be a coincidence, and it may be our imagination. Fine, let’s write-off those ah-ha moments and diminish them down to the size of the rest of the fragments of our lives. Still, no matter what justification we give to those unusual moments the outcome is always the same, that we awaken from our slumber even if only for a split second.
That’s all it takes, a split second for the most magical of events to happen in our lives. How can we see it any other way than a sign or symbol of the spirit side, the God realm, that place where we feel the connectivity and the power of love.
